average rating
Lives were upended--and some co-opted--in the fifth and final season of Angel, as the denizens of Angel Investigations found themselves taking on one of their scariest endeavors ever: corporate life. After making a literal deal with the devil (or something distinctly devil-like), Angel (David Boreanaz) moved his team from their crumbling hotel to the high-rise digs of law-firm-from-hell Wolfram & Hart, his reasoning being they could better fight the forces of evil from the inside, and with more... read more.

The end of an era. After 2 yrs on from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Came Angel the Series. I own all 5 seasons of this, and I can't decide which is my favorite. This season had its ups down. The gang moved into Wolfram and Hart, all got jobs in their "specialty". Wes: Books, Fred: Science, Lorne: Entertainment, and Gunn: got his brain upgraded to big time lawyer. We also see the shocking return of Spike at the end of the first episode "Conviction". Near the end of the season, we saw Fred get infected with the "spirit" Illyria, which eventually took over her body leaving Fred for dead in episode: "A Hole in the World". Cordy comes back for one episode: "You're Welcome" the 100th episode of the series. She later dies but not before giving Angel some helpful information. There is a light hearted episode "Smile Time" where we see Angel turned into a Puppet for an episode, it was gr8 to see him that way, and how the other characters interacted with him (and how the reacted when they 1st saw him in puppet form!) We even got to see him "vamp out" puppet style! In the final episode we see the return of Connor as he helps Angel defeat Hamilton. We see the gang assigned to kill off members of the "The Circle of the Black Thorn". Lindsey is back to assist with this, but is then shockingly shot and killed by Lorne! Wesley is killed in his battle against Cyvvus Vail, and as he dies Illyria turns into Fred and holds him close to her - very emotional scene, as was the scene in which Fred died. All in all, this was a fantastic show, and Season 5 just added to its greatness, it's a pity it had to end. Rating: 5 stars! Fave episodes: "Your Welcome", "Smile Time", "A Hole in the World" and "Not Fade Away"
