Hell Comes To Frogtown | Blu Ray | (19/12/2016)
from £9.69 | Saving you £N/A (N/A%) | RRP
With the 20th Century drawing to a close, nuclear war has wiped out civilization as we know it. The embattled human race's last remaining hope lies with one man and his loaded weapon. Sam Hell may be an ex-con, but he also happens to be one of the last surviving fertile men on the planet. Now, under the custody of a group of feisty female fighters, Sam finds himself enlisted on a mission to impregnate a harem of beauties. Sounds cushy enough, but the ladies in question are prisoners of Frogtown home to a gang of mutant (and ill-mannered) amphibians! Starring wrestler-turned-actor Rowdy Roddy Piper, known to John Carpenter enthusiasts for his body-slamming and bubblegum-chewing antics in They Live, Hell Comes to Frogtown is unashamedly a B-movie through and through with more guns and girls than you can shake a frog's leg at. SPECIAL EDITION CONTENTS: ¢ High Definition Blu-ray (1080p) presentation ¢ Original uncompressed 2.0 PCM audio ¢ Grappling with Green Gargantuans: Wrestling icon Rowdy Roddy Piper speaks about his leading man turn in Hell Comes to Frogtown ¢ Amphibian Armageddon: Actor Brian Frank remembers his role as Commander Toty ¢ Creature Feature Creator: Effects wizard Steve Wang reveals the secrets behind Hell Comes to Frogtown's mutant manifestations ¢ Extended Scene ¢ Original Trailer

Professional WWF wrestler Rowdy Roddy Piper plays John Nada, a homeless, unemployed construction worker who discovers a pair of sunglasses that when worn suddenly reveal a world run by upwardly mobile, capitalist, yuppie aliens intent on keeping the human race sedate and brainwashed with subliminal messages fed through advertising and the media. Luckily for us, all John Nada wants to do now is chew gum and kick ass, and he's all out of gum. THEY LIVE is one of John Carpenter's most accomplished films. An action packed, satirical, sci-fi adventure and socio-cultural critique on the decline of spiritual values and the rise of consumerism within modern society, it also includes one of the longest fist fights in the history of cinema. Bonus Features: Audio commentary: Writer/Director John Carpenter and Actor Roddy Piper Independent thoughts: An interview with Writer/Director John Carpenter Woman of Mystery: An interview with Meg Foster Watch, Look, Listen: The sights and sounds of They Live Man vs Aliens: An interview with Actor Keith David The Making of They Live Commercials TV Spots

Auto Focus captures the scandalous private life of Bob Crane, best known as the star of German POW camp sitcom Hogans Heroes. Greg Kinnear plays the affable comic actor, who nursed an obsession with sex--specifically pornography, strippers, swinging, domination, and especially the videotaping of his own sexual exploits. His behaviour led to the downfall of two marriages and enmeshed Crane in a strangely symbiotic relationship with a video equipment salesman named John Carpenter (Willem Dafoe); Carpenter provided the technology, and Crane (through the power of his fame) provided the girls. Their friendship ultimately wore thin and may have led to Cranes gruesome death. Auto Focus is a lot like an episode of VH-1s Behind the Music, but with sex in the place of the usual downfall-causing drugs; though elegantly filmed, it doesnt delve too deeply into Cranes joy, and so never gets a genuine feel for his pain either. --Bret Fetzer
