Angels and Demons is a frantic mystery-thriller based on the book by American author Dan Brown and directed by Ron Howard. When a scientist is found brutally murdered, Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks), a Harvard professor, is asked to decipher the symbols scorched upon the man's chest. Langton unravels the mysteries of the codes, realising that an age-old secret society called the Illuminati, a brotherhood swarn against Catholicism is active. When the Pope dies and before conclave can determine the successor, the four cardinals, in line for the position (preferitti) are kidnapped and one-by-one murdered. Langdon must embark on a hunt, following a 400-year old trail through the streets and churches of Rome to try and stop the killing and search for a destructive weapon that could completely wipe out the Vatican City.
