Golden Globes - and the winners are...

British born Kate Winslet won best supporting actress for her role as a concentration camp guard in ‘The Reader’.

 
Heath Ledger, who died of an accidental overdose in New York last year, received a standing ovation after being named best supporting actor for his outstanding performance as the Joker in The Dark Night. His award was accepted by the director of "Dark Knight" Christopher Nolan, who commented that the loss of Heath was like "a hole ripped in modern cinema." 
 
Best actor went to Sean Penn for his performance as Harvey Milk a campaigning gay activist.
 
Colin Farrell took home the Golden Globe for best actor in a musical or comedy with his role as a hitman in "In Bruges.
 
The much-acclaimed, Slumdog Millionaire sweeped to Golden Globe glory when it picked up awards for best composer, AR Rahman, and best writer, Simon Beaufoy.
 
Steven Spielberg received the Cecil B. DeMille Award for his “outstanding contribution to the entertainment field.”
 
Brad Pitt, whose film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button had eight nominations, came away with nothing!
