A collection of children's films. In 'Beethoven' (1992) a cute, small St Bernard puppy finds refuge from animal experimenter Dr Varnick in the tidy household of George Newton (Charles Grodin). There, Beethoven grows very big and causes near chaos. Meanwhile Dr Varnick thinks Beethoven an ideal subject on which to test some new ammunition. In 'Fly Away Home' (1996), after spending nine years apart, 13-year-old Amy (Anna Paquin) and her father Thomas (Jeff Daniels) are finally reunited. But things don't go smoothly at first, and while Thomas spends all his time testing a lightweight aircraft he has built, Amy finds solace with the geese nesting in a nearby lake. When developers then threaten to displace the geese, Amy volunteers to lead them on their migration by flying in Thomas's aircraft. In 'Harry and the Hendersons' (1987) George Henderson (John Lithgow) and his family run over a huge yeti-like creature on their camping holiday and decide to take him home to Seattle. There, the creature - known as 'Harry' (Kevin Peter Hall) - wreaks good-natured havoc until nosy neighbours endanger his safety. In 'Nanny McPhee' (2005) Cedric Brown (Colin Firth) has recently lost his wife and is faced with the prospect of trying to raise his seven unruly children on his own. With the wild children too much for most nannies, all of whom have quickly left his service, Cedric is one day commanded by a mysterious voice to hire the witch-like Nanny McPhee (Emma Thompson), who uses her magical powers to keep the children in line. In 'Stuart Little' (2000), when Mr and Mrs Little (Hugh Laurie and Geena Davis) visit an orphanage to find a brother for their son, George (Jonathan Lipnicki), they come away with a charming talking mouse called Stuart. After initial misgivings, George and Stuart begin to get on famously, and everything seems to be going perfectly; but unknown to the family, the neighbourhood cats have ganged together with the sole intention of getting rid of Stuart. Finally, in 'Zathura - A Space Adventure' (2005), squabbling brothers Danny (Jonah Bobo) and Walter (Josh Hutcherson) manage to cooperate enough to play an old mechanical board game named Zathura. However, after their first move, they find that the game has apparently flung them, their sister and their entire house into outer space. Furthermore, the brothers surmise the only way to return home is to finish the game. However with almost every move, new dangers arise as the siblings find themselves learning to cooperate in ways they never expected as they realise what they mean to each other.
