Alias Season 3 DVD

| DVD

The third season of Alias found super spy Sydney Bristow (Jennifer Garner) waking up in Hong Kong with a monster hangover and two years in the future with nary a memory. What's worse, her world has been turned upside-down with the evil Sloane (Ron Rifkin) now a world-famous humanitarian and philanthropist, and, even worse, her true love Vaughn (Michael Vartan) married to a seemingly great gal. Nice way to go back to work, eh? After coming up with one heck of a cliffhanger in season 2, Alias proceeded a bit aimlessly through these 22 episodes, and as a result, the parts were truly greater than the whole. With Lena Olin no longer around as Syd's duplicitous mother, and the addition of admirable yet bland Melissa George as Vaughn's wife Lauren, Garner found herself for the first time without a compelling female foil to play off. By dividing its focus equally between the quest for the enigmatic Rambaldi device, Syd and Vaughn's now-contentious relationship, and the uncovering of Syd's missing years, Alias lost a little of its power without a larger story arc. The loss of regular cast members Merrin Dungey (Francie/Alison) and Bradley Cooper (Will)--both of whom do make great guest appearances--also divest the show of the personal life that kept Sydney human and approachable. Still, Garner is stellar as always, the plot twists come fast and furious, and secret identities are revealed. This season does have a great panorama of guest actors including Ricky Gervais, Justin Theroux, Djimon Hounsou, David Cronenberg, Quentin Tarantino, Vivica A. Fox, and Isabella Rossellini as Syd's long-lost aunt. --Mark Englehart, Amazon.com

Fast pace action packed series. Which has you wondering who the good guys are and who are the bad guys.
The series does not pick up right after the last series but two years later. Instead the first part of the series concentrates on the main character's lost memories. The viewer learns a lot about the previous two series. So new viewers can come straight into this series without watching the other two series. The second part of the series sees the main character learning she has a half sister she never knew about. The leading man having moved on after her death married a woman who was only out to use him.
All the people she knew from before had also moved on believing she was dead. However she does not find it hard to settle back into her old life of stopping the bad guys and saving everyone.
It sounds a little trite with good guys against bad guys but it is the action and unexpected surprises that keep you hooked all though the whold five seasons.

5 Star. 10 out of 10. Brilliant excellant and all that jazz.

The only fault I have with it is you can not just watch one episode. You have to watch each and everyone to understand what is happening. Otherwise you might miss an important clue to what is happening!

Action all the way. You can get lost in the plot. Esepcially if you're a first time watcher. Knowing who is on who's side is confusing.

This DVD is excellent. Jennifer Garner acts out Sydney very real. She shows real emotion and makes the character seem very real. The whole show gives a feeling of real life especially when Sydney sees something very upseting its makes you fell just like her. The guest stars are also a plus, Ricky Gervais played the US terrorist very well. His character was a lot more serious than his usual character in The Office, this just shows what a good actor he is to show to completly different comparasions of characters. The diectors and actors have done a very good job on this season, well done!
