First-rate fun with Carrey returning to his trademark, full-blown mugging, with fine support from the ever appealing Jennifer Aniston, while Morgan Freeman makes the perfect God. Consistently funny throughout, and the DVD features half an hour of deleted scenes (all of it good, but sensibly trimmed.) The film's message? Be pleased with what you've got. Now, that's a pretty good message for all 'n' sundry, but we get it in just about every movie we see, and it's kinda weird when you realise it's the money grabbing Hollywood suits and multi-millionaire performers delivering the same message again and again to we humdrum nobodies. Control? What do you all think? Not a criticism of the movie, but it started me thinking.
