James Cosmo stars as a man reaching out to his estranged daughter, in this award-winning Scottish comedy drama. Convinced he's on his last legs because of his health problems, sixtysomething rogue Alfred (Cosmo) plans a holiday to Spain with his best (and only) pal Brian (Brian Pettifer). But before he goes, he's determined to set things right with his daughter Jackie (Kate Dickie), who still blames him for the death of her husband. With no progress in sight, however, Alfred soon finds events careering out his control when he enlists the help of Stevie (Martin Compston) to try and calm the waters.
