The Angels' Share DVD

| DVD

The Angels Share is a Scottish comedy drama from award winning director Ken Loach. It won the highly prestigious Jury Prize, beating off all opposition (of 21 more films) at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012.

This is the gritty, extremely realistic story of unemployed Glaswegian young offender and new father Robbie (played by Paul Brannigan) who is trying to turn his life around and save himself from personal destruction, while on Community Service, having narrowly escaped a jail sentence. Robbie and 3 of his friends (also on Community Service due to committing minor offences) are treated (unofficially), by their supervisor, to a day trip to a whisky distillery and whisky tasting session to try to instil into them a bit of culture. It is here where they learn all about "The Angel's Share".

During the visit it transpires that Robbie possesses a natural talent for identifying the best malt whisky. This motivates him to devise an ingeniously cunning plot that will certainly change all of their hopeless lives one way or another. All they need to do is plan a small heist involving just one barrel of the very finest malt whisky.......!
