John Carter (2/7/2012) is a fast moving sci-fi action adventure from 2012 based on Edgar Rice Burrough's novel A Princess of Mars from the Barsoom series of novels (which spanned 1912-1943). It follows the story of John Carter a Civil War veteran who, caught in the middle of a complicated skirmish on Earth, finds himself inexplicably transported to Mars. He soon discovers that Mars itself is in the midst of a chaotic, protracted, brutal conflict and that he is being held prisoner by gigantic 12 foot aliens. It slowly dawns on him that Barsoom's destiny lies in his hands and that only he can rescue its people from certain death. Starring Taylor Kitsch (John Carter), Lynn Collins (Princess Dejah Thoris) and William Defoe (Tars Tarkis).
Jack and Jill is a comedy from 2011 and was written by Adam Sandler. Sandler plays the two main characters, Jack and Jill Sadelstein, who are twins. Jack has a high flying career and a near-perfect life living in luxury in Los Angeles with his beautiful wife and lovely kids. Once a year though their lives are turned completely upside down by Jill's customary Thanksgiving holiday visit. This particular time though things go from bad to worse as she extends her stay. When things start to go wrong for Jack at work – it might only be Jill who can save the day. Jack and Jill is out on DVD on 2/7/2012.
