A performer whose enigmatic work reflected the strong influence of and Middle Eastern musical textures Danielle Dax was born in Southend England. She made her debut in 1979 as the keyboardist in Amy Turtle and the Crossroads; and then went on to front the Lemon Kittens. Upon the Kittens's split Dax mounted a solo career.
