| RRP What might have been a one-note family comedy becomes something more thanks to the comic brilliance of co-stars Nathan Lane and Lee Evans, as well as the distinctive, dark-fable look given the film by a little-known director named Gore Verbinksi (could he be the next Tim Burton?). Lane and Evans play idiotic brothers who inherit a house and all but destroy it in pursuit of one small, pesky mouse. The guys are always the butt of the sight gags--most of which are very funny--but their considerable powers as slapstick artists are also at play. The climactic scene at an auction was the funniest scene in any American movie in 1997, the year of Mouse Hunt's release. --Tom Keogh

| RRP The unique talents of one of Britain's brightest comedy stars are on display in this hilarious video. Lee Evans burst onto the stand-up comedy circuit as the winner of the prestigious Perrier Award and here he delivers his unique brand of physical humour in a series of short comedy dramas shot on film. Ordinary situations are turned into scenes of hysterical and mind bending comedy whether it's meeting his girlfriend's parents for the fist time in 'Meet the Folks' (co-starring Prunella Scales Tony Selby and Caroline Aherne) sharing a sleeping carriage with his girlfriend on a train in 'Off the Rails' (co-starring Jo Unwin) or working in an all-night petrol station in 'Late Shift' (co-starring John Thomson). This DVD also contains 'Mr. Confidence' (with Samantha Beckinsale) and 'Special Delivery' (with Amanda Dickinson and Andy Lindon). Evans' performances are always at a frantic pace and he has been likened to all four Marx Brothers rolled into one.

Bonnie And Clyde | DVD | (01/06/2006)
from £10.35
| Saving you £3.64 (35.17%)
| RRP One of the landmark films of the 1960s, Bonnie and Clyde changed the course of American cinema. Setting a milestone for screen violence that paved the way for Sam Peckinpah's The Wild Bunch, this exercise in mythologized biography should not be labelled as a bloodbath; as critic Pauline Kael wrote in her rave review, "it's the absence of sadism that throws the audience off balance". The film is more of a poetic ode to the Great Depression, starring the dream team of Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway as the titular antiheroes, who barrel across the South and Midwest robbing banks with Clyde's brother Buck (Gene Hackman), Buck's frantic wife Blanche (Estelle Parsons) and their faithful accomplice C W Moss (the inimitable Michael J. Pollard). Bonnie and Clyde is an unforgettable classic that has lost none of its power since the 1967 release. --Jeff Shannon
