Killer Crocodile First there was Jaws, then there was Piranha, next came Alligator. But nothing has prepared you for... Killer Crocodile! From the notorious Fabrizio De Angelis (Zombie Flesh Eaters) comes the ultimate in nature amok films. When a group of well-meaning scientists venture into the murky swamps of Santo Domingo, little do they know they are stumbling into a toxic nightmare. Local industrial barons have foolishly been pumping their waste into the water and this has given birth to a humongous reptilian monstrosity with an equally large appetite for human flesh. Featuring effects by the legendary Giannetto De Rossi (Rambo III), Killer Crocodile delivers all the thrills, spills and chills that any self-respecting fan of eco-horror demands. With performances from Anthony Crenna (son of Rambo's Richard Creena) and Hollywood legend, Van Johnson (Eagles Over London), Killer Crocodile remains a firm cult favorite find out why for yourself, with striking HD clarity, thanks to this 2k restoration from 88 Films. Killer Crocodile 2 Getting back in the water will never be safe again! From special effects guru, Giannetto De Rossi (Dune), comes this blood-soaked follow-up to Killer Crocodile. The swamps of Santo Domingo are still haunted by the waste of the industrial industry and Anthony Crenna (The Blob) is out to prove the dangers plaguing the local water sources with the help of reporter, and love-interest, Liza (Debra Karr). At the same time a greedy property developer pushes to secure a location for his pet project, a swank new holiday resort overlooking a toxic river, despite the areas problem with a mutated killer crocodile chowing down on anyone dumb enough to enter the water. Stepping behind the camera for his first and, to date, only time, BAFTA-nominee Giannetto De Rossi (The Last Emperor) amps up the gore, set-pieces, F-bombs and general nastiness; the scene in which a boatload of orphans and a nun get chewed on by the killer croc is enough to cement this film's place in the exploitation history books, but that's just the beginning and Killer Crocodile 2 is bigger, badder and louder than the first in every conceivable way. Brace yourself for Killer Crocodile 2 like you have never seen it before thanks to this beautiful 2k restoration from 88 Films. Following Val Kilmer's portrayal of the caped crusader in Batman Forever, the fourth Batman feature stars George Clooney under the pointy-eared cowl, with Chris O'Donnell returning as Robin the Boy Wonder. This time the dynamic duo is up against the nefarious Mr Freeze (Arnold Schwarzenegger), who is bent on turning the world into an iceberg, and the slyly seductive but highly toxic Poison Ivy (Uma Thurman), who wants to eliminate all animal life and turn the Earth into a gigantic greenhouse. Alicia Silverstone lends a hand as Batgirl, and Elle McPherson plays the thankless role of Batman/Bruce Wayne's fiancèe. A sensory assault of dazzling colours, senseless action and lavish sets run amok, this Batman & Robin offers an overdose of eye candy, but it is strictly for devoted Bat-o-philes. --Jeff Shannon, Amazon.com

Director Herbert Ross (The Turning Point) pulled a winning movie out of this almost self-consciously archetypal tale of teenage rock rebellion. Kevin Bacon stars as a hip city kid who ends up in a Bible-belt town after his parents divorce. An ill fit for a conservative community where rock is frowned upon and dancing is forbidden, Bacon's character rallies the kids and takes on the establishment. Between a good cast really embracing the drama of Dean Pitchford's screenplay, and Ross's imaginative, highly charged way of shooting the dance numbers, you can get lost in this all-ages confection, and you won't even mind Kenny Loggins's bubbly pop. Bonuses include one of John Lithgow's best performances (a bit reminiscent of Jimmy Stewart) and Christopher Penn (who sure doesn't look the same anymore) as a good-natured hick who learns to boogie. --Tom Keogh

Al Pacino cuts a noble figure in this very enjoyable drama by director Brian De Palma (Scarface), based on a pair of books by Edwin Torres. Pacino plays a Puerto Rican ex-con trying hard to go straight, but his loyalty to his lowlife attorney (a virtually unrecognisable Sean Penn) and enemies on the street make that choice difficult. Penelope Ann Miller plays, somewhat unlikely, a stripper who has a romance with Pacino's character. The film finds De Palma tempering his more outlandish moves (think of Body Double or Snake Eyes) just as he did with the popular Untouchables and Mission: Impossible. But while Carlito's Way was not as commercially successful as those two movies, it is a genuinely compelling work graced with a fine performance by Pacino and a surprising one from Penn. --Tom Keogh

With this trailblazing musical, writerdirectorstar John Cameron Mitchell and composerlyricist Stephen Trask brought their signature creation from stage to screen for a movie as unclassifiable as its protagonist. Raised a boy in East Berlin, Hedwig (Mitchell) undergoes a traumatic personal transformation in order to emigrate to the U.S., where she reinvents herself as an internationally ignored but divinely talented rock diva, characterized by Mitchell as a beautiful gender of one. The film tells Hedwig's life story through her music, an eclectic collection of original punk anthems and power ballads by Trask, matching them with a freewheeling cinematic mosaic of musicvideo fantasies, animated interludes, and moments of bracing emotional realism. A hardcharging song cycle and a tender character study, Hedwig and the Angry Inch is a tribute to the transcendent power of rock and roll.
