The adorable animated children's movie Moomin and Midsummer Madness is based on the bestselling book by one of Scandinavia's most famous authors Tove Jansson. It's been a long hot summer in the Moomin Valley. All of the creatures are becoming bored with the unchanging season - until a volcanic eruption causes a major flood. As the Moomin family searches for refuge they are rescued by a floating abandoned house. But this is no house and it's definitely not abandoned. Occupied by the feisty Emma the Moomin learn that the building is actually a theatre. With plenty of costumes and props to occupy their time soon the family is engrossed in creating their own play - the first ever Moomin stage production!
Forced into community service at a children's home Butler (Steve Guttenberg) finds himself on the receiving end of the unruly kids wild antics and practical jokes. The home's administrator Karen is desperate to find an outlet for the kids undoubted energy and tries to persuade Butler to coach the kids at football. But Butler rejects the idea as the memories of his past career are just too much. So this hopeless group of misfits find themselves on a seemingly never-ending losing streak. However when the team are publicly humiliated they return home to find an even greater disaster has befallen them and not only does the team face disbanding but the boys themselves may be split up forever. Deep in despair Karen comes up with a seemingly hair brained plan to save both the team and the boys future together. However the plan depends on Butler's help!
There's a new school teacher at Sleepy Hollow: Ichabod Crane. His manners and education appeal to the wives and daughters in the hamlet but his strange looks make the men suspicious. Ichabod has such a high opinion of himself that he tries to woo Katrina Van Tassel the beautiful young daughter of the wealthiest farmer in the district who everyone in the community thinks should marry the handsome blacksmith Brom Bones. The villagers tell Ichabod tales about the headless horseman who it is believed rides out every night to look for his lost head but he pretends that he is not scared of ghosts and sets off for the Van Tassels believing he will marry Katrina. Brom sees a way to terrify Ichabod by posing as the headless horseman but then another headless horseman appears...
