It's 1971 and The Killer is hot. Jerry Lee Lewis is in the middle of the most creative consistent and successful period of his career. Since 1968 when Eddy Kilroy convinced him to cut Another Place Another Time the country hits have just kept coming. The midas touch has returned and Jerry Lee is the Hit Machine as those early days at Sun promised. Ironically the hits are coming from both new Mercury Smash releases and vintage material from the last two Sun Record Sessions at 639 Madison in Memphis.THE JERRY LEE LEWS SHOW was shot in Nashville in the summer of '71 under the direction of Rita Gillespie of Oh Boy and Shindig fame and represents a tentative pitch at the television market. Intended as a pilot to tempt the networks to a weekly show it was neither picked up or even shown. The failure was perhaps bound up in two issues - the ever present lack of strong management direction and the dilemma of the rock and country markets. The finished product simply sits on the fence. The guest stars feel the lack of clear market definition for whilst both Carl Perkins and Jackie Wilson give vintage performances they are not potent rock forces. The networks then as now like clean straightforward material to fit their categories. Thirty years on this DVD provides a unique opportunity to view The Killer in his country prime working with probably the best Memphis-Beats line-up including Eddie Debruhl Buddy Church Charlie Owen and Jerry Lee's best friend Jackie and sister Linda Gail Lewis plus fascinating location material shot in Florida Louisiana and Natchez Mississippi. As such it is a must for any rock and country collection and a chance to relish Jerry Lee Lewis at his best.Tracks include: Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On / Autumn Leaves / Higher and Higher - Jackie Wilson / Honey Don't - Carl Perkins

Titles Comprise:Battle of the Bulge: The last desperate fight that changed the course of history.Five months after D-Day, most American soldiers think the German army is broken. The Germans think otherwise. In an attempt to buy time to fill the skies with their invincible new jets, they launch one fast, furious offensive: the Battle of the Bulge. For this epic recreation of one of World War II's most crucial confrontations, director Ken Annakin (The Longest Day) captures the explosive action of massive forces squaring off as well as the brave, individual ingenuity of weary GIs trying to survive a cruel European winter.Escape To Victory: This is no ordinary soccer match: this is war!The battlefield: a stadium in occupied Paris. The armies: German all-stars vs. ragtag Allied POWs. The objective: demonstrate another proof of Aryan superiority. Guess who wins? Better yet, guess who cleverly uses the match as a means of escape?Sylvester Stallone, Michael Caine and Max von Sydow star in this rouser directed by the legendary John Huston. The climatic match is a heart-in-the-throat, hat-in-the-air exhibition of brute force and balletic grace featuring soccer legends Pele, Bobby Moore, Osvaldo Ardiles, Co Prins, Mike Summerbee and more.Score a splendid entertainment goal for 'Victory'!Kelly's Heroes: Clint Eastwood's misfit squad is in the Army - and in the money! They were goldbricks until they found out about the gold bricks - a fortune in Nazi-confiscated bullion! Clint Eastwood and Brian Hutton (Where Eagles Dare) team-up once more, for this alternately action-filled and tongue-in-cheek tale of GIs who decide to get something extra out of the war. Eastwood, North America's #2 box-office star at the time, plays Lt. Kelly, mastermind of a scheme to slip behind enemy lines and steal the loot. Co-stars include a trio on the verge of big-time TV success: Carroll O'Connor, Telly Savalas and Gavin MacLeod. Plus, Don Rickles plays the expectedly outspoken Crapgame. And in the same year as his starmaking M*A*S*H, Donald Sutherland is Oddball, World War II's only hippie. Dig it!The Dirty Dozen: Atten-hut! Twelve jailbirds will earn their freedom... if they survive a suicide mission against the Nazi brass. Tough-as-nails Lee Marvin leads a nothing-to-lose convict squad in this all-time action trendsetter.Full Metal Jacket: Full Metal Jacket begins by following the trials and tribulations of a platoon of fresh Marine Corps recruits focusing on the relationship between Gunnery Sergeant Hartman and Privates Pyle and Joker. We see Pyle grow into an instrument of death as Hartman has foreseen of all of his recruits. Through Pyle's torment and Joker's unwillingness to stand up against it the climax of part one is achieved with all three main characters deciding their fates by their action or inaction. The second chapter of Full Metal Jacket delves into Joker's psyche and the repeated referral to the fact that he joined the Corps to become a killer. When his mostly behind the scenes job as a combat correspondent is interfered with by the Tet offensive he is thrust into real combat and ultimately must choose if he really is a killer.

Yep, that ugly toy with the killer's instinct is back for a fifth round of irreverent bloodshed in Seed of Chucky. Chucky and his plastic partner Tiffany are reanimated by their child, a gentle doll of indeterminate gender who'd prefer that his parents stopped their knife-wielding ways. No such luck. In an attempt at irony that also includes John Waters as a tabloid reporter, Jennifer Tilly (who also voices Tiffany) is asked to play herself, a B-grade actress tired of being stuck in a movie filled with murderous dolls. She courts rap star Redman, playing himself, when she hears he's looking for someone to play the mother of Jesus in a new film. Chuck, Tiffany, and spawn naturally interrupt such ridiculous plans. Writer/director Don Mancini has the trio doing things you have to see to believe, including a vivid disembowelment and a human impregnation featuring a turkey baster filled with, you guessed it, the seed of Chucky. It's junk, sure, and tension-free, but Tilly's willing self-debasement is fairly jaw-dropping. If you're so inclined, her shameless decision to play along may be reason enough to suffer the consequences. --Steve Wiecking, Amazon.com

The Angry Dragon: One of a collection of films recently discovered in the Hong Kong film archives and now available for the first time in the UK. One of the most popular stars in the martial arts world Dragon Lee performs in this epic account of an attempt to overthrow the Ching government. The fighting is fast furious and brutal as you would expect from this master of Kung Fu. Dragon Lee was considered by many to have taken over the crown worn by the true master Bruce Lee and in 'The Angry Dragon' it is easy to see why. Dragon Warrior: Suspicions are raised when two strangers appear on White Wolf Hills just days before the sale of a priceless seal. Far from wanting to steal the seal the two strangers set about ensuring the preservation of the sacred icon. In this tale of cross and double-cross different styles of Kung Fu are displayed by true masters of the martial arts. Secrets Of The Dragon: During the ruthless reign of the Ching Dynasty a secret society formed by a resistance group had in their possession the drawings of the ancient Snake and Crane style of kung fu fighting used by their ancestors. All the members swore never to reveal each others names and protect the secrets of these ancient techniques. This is a barbaric tale of political upheaval in which many bloody battles were fought and in which many lost their lives as the secrets became revealed.

Land Of The Dead: In Romero's harrowing newest vision the world (as humankind has known it) is merely a memory. In its place is the never-ending nightmare existence of us-the living-versus them-the ""walkers."" What's left of mankind is cordoned off behind the walls of a fortified city while the walking dead roam the vast wasteland beyond. The few wealthy and powerful try to maintain an illusion of life as it was dwelling high above the city in the exclusive towers of Fiddler's Green the last bastion of the ruling class. On the streets below however the remaining less fortunate of the city's inhabitants eke out a hard-scrabble life seeking what little solace they can in the vices available-gambling flesh trade drugs-anything that offers even a fleeting respite from the hell their lives have become. Both the lofty heights of Fiddler's Green and the demoralizing lows of the city below are lorded over by a handful of ruthless opportunists led by Kaufman (Dennis Hopper) who keeps his hands in everything from real estate to less above-board pursuits. To bring food and other essential supplies to the occupants of the city and to allow the Green's well-to-do to acquire the scarce luxury items to which they were once accustomed a hardened group of mercenaries-headed by Riley (Simon Baker) and his second-in-command Cholo (John Leguizamo)-run retrieval missions outside the city protected by their massive armored vehicle Dead Reckoning. Riley and Cholo like Kaufman are in it for the money which they hope to use for their own escapes- Riley to the North with promises of ""a world without fences"" and freedom and Cholo to the luxury of Fiddler's Green far away from the violent life he has known. Texas Chainsaw Massacre: First released to a shocked public in 1974 The Texas Chainsaw Massacre has a deserved reputation as a compelling part of a new wave of American horror films. Terrifyingly dark and based on factual events Tobe Hooper's controversial and chillingly atmospheric film involves the tragedy that befell a group of five teenagers one summer afternoon. by time this disturbing film deserves its unique status as a true cult classic.
