Joey's series of 10 minute workouts for Back Pain and Posture caters for straight, curvy or rounded back types and includes a special section for those who spend much of their time sitting at a desk or at the wheel of a vehicle. With Joey's guidance you will be able to regularly and gently exercise your back and benefit from a stronger and healthier body. 'Our back is critical to personal mobility and wellbeing yet many people suffer discomfort or serious debilitating pain. My series of carefully devised ten minute workouts will help you train, refine and strengthen your back, improve posture and protect it against injury'. Disc 3: Gymball for Back Pain and Posture Bad posture is a bad habit that tends to come about through today's sedentary lifestyle. Days spent driving or slumped over a computer wreak havoc with our alignment and an increasing number of adults will suffer in their later years with back or neck pain due to these postural habits. This programme will look at ways of improving posture, strengthening essential postural and core muscles as well as mobilising the joints. We are going to counteract the amount of time spent leaning forwards, reducing the amount of stress placed on the spine and supporting joints and ligaments. We will also examine specific postural types offering exercises from throughout the programme particularly beneficial for each. The Ball is a fantastic tool for us to use to improve posture and strengthen those deep core muscles. Due to its unstable surface it is very difficult to slouch on as you would simply fall off! Everything we do on the ball works the small stabiliser muscles and due to its round nature, it allows us a much greater range of movement than if we were to perform the same exercise on the floor. Improving posture is not only to avoid back and neck pain. It can make you look slimmer, more attractive and it is a real reflection to the outside world of how we see ourselves. It improves breathing, circulation which can result in less cellulite as well as better overall functioning of the body. Ultimately though, having better posture, strength and mobility will not only reduce your risks of back or neck pain later in life, but will give you a renewed confidence and poise.

This boxset contains the following films: When We Were Kings (Dir. Leon Gast) (1996):On September 25 1974 in the wake of one of the greatest political scandals in its history - the ignominious collapse of the Nixon presidency - America was poised to watch a knockout punch that would redefine it as a nation of champions. In the atmosphere of a three-ring circus in Zaire a little known country ruled by a military dictator on the little-noticed continent of Africa two American fighters held the world's attention. One would capture the world's imagination. But four days before the scheduled ""Rumble in the Jungle "" as the heavyweight championship matchup between reigning title holder George Foreman and challenger Muhammad Ali was called the promoters announced that there would be a six week delay. And in that time span as the international media took in the rhythms of the music and the mysterious beauty of the land and as anticipation for the fight mounted an entirely new phenomenon evolved - black Americans saw their own generational crossroads reflected in the contrasting images of the two men who had returned to Africa to fight. The Greatest (Dir. Tom Gries / Monte Hellman) (1977):18 year-old Olympic gold medalist Cassius Clay feels ready to take on the heavyweight championship. In this dramatisation the incredible career of the legendary fighter is portrayed as he gains in stature and power under the guidance of Angelo Dundee Clay takes the heavyweight title away from Sonny Liston. Soon after his victory Clay converted to Islam changing his name to Mohammad Ali and begins a three year court battle to avoid being drafted into the army on religious grounds. This dramatic biography of a legend (starring Ali himself) excuse the pun certainly pulls no punches.

  • The Onion Field [1979]The Onion Field | DVD | (08/09/2003) from £N/A   |  Saving you £N/A (N/A%)   |  RRP £12.99

One night in l963, two plainclothes LAPD officers were abducted by armed, small-time criminals after a routine traffic stop, then driven to a remote area where one was brutally executed. The other officer managed to escape and the perpetrators were captured and brought to trial. Despite overwhelming evidence, the slayers managed to drag the justice process on for years through appeals and delaying tactics, one of them making use of the prison law library to become a "jailhouse lawyer". Taken from the Joseph Wambaugh book, The Onion Field is a true story about a case that changed LAPD policies forever. More than a simple police procedural, though, the film is a character study that follows the aftermath of the murder for all involved. John Savage, as the surviving officer, is called on over and over to re-enact the event in court, chided by his superiors and eventually fired from the force, with redemption a long way off. He does a great job in a harrowing role as frustration, guilt and depression cause his life and career to disintegrate over time. There are impressive early performances by Ted Danson and James Woods (setting the tone for countless raw-nerve, psycho-lowlife roles that Woods would take on in the future). The compelling script, written by ex-cop Wambaugh (with no studio interference), is a reminder of why he's one of novelist James Ellroy's favourite writers. It's a story of tragedy and hope, dignity and pain, with a potent emotional payoff. --Jerry Renshaw

In the first Prime Suspect, Helen Mirren's ballsy woman Detective Chief Inspector Jane Tennyson battled the boys club and their sexist barbs to prove herself in a chauvinist department. In Prime Suspect 2, she's assigned to head a racially charged murder investigation in a largely African/Caribbean neighbourhood. It's politics as usual in the image-conscious organization, so the superintendent adds to the team black Detective Robert Oswalde (Colin Salma), a sharp but hot-headed investigator who has just broken off an affair with Tennyson. Now Tennyson grapples with her own conflicted feelings while fighting political and public-relations battles both in the media and within the police system itself in the midst of investigating the labyrinthine case. Between the scant clues left to sift, a prime suspect on the verge of death himself and divisions in her own team that result in a devastating death, Tennyson soon begins to suspect she's been hung out to dry by the department. Screenwriter Allan Cubitt dives into the murky waters of volatile racial and social relations to create an even more complex and compelling mystery in Tennyson's second appearance and Mirren rises to the challenge to explore the contradictions of an uncompromising cop in a compromising position. --Sean Axmaker
