Series 1 The first series of thirteen episodes charts the onset and aftermath of a virulent plague that wipes out 99.9% of the world's population and the struggles of a lone group of survivors during the privations that follow. The action follows the experiences of three principal survivors: headstrong housewife Abby Grant enigmatic engineer Greg Preston and London secretary Jenny Richards. Series 2 This second series of thirteen episodes is set a year after the global pandemic which claimed the lives of 99.9% of the world's population and charts the continuing struggles of a small band of survivors in the dangerous new world left behind by 'The Death'. Picking up the storyline six months after the events of the first series the action follows Greg Preston as he visits Whitecross to meet up with self-sufficiency expert Charles Vaughan again.
