That makes them eager to try another home out in the west where they are promised that mice and cats live in peace. Unfortunately the one making this claim is an oily con artist named Cat R. Waul who is intent on his own sinister plan. Unaware of this the Mousekewitz's begin their journey west while their true cat friend Tiger follows intent on following his girlfriend gone in the same direction.

In The Hustle Christopher Walken stars as a gigolo with three women in his life all of whom depend on him for different degrees of romance and companionshiop. In the final segment The Peabody an older Vietnamese woman (Lilia Skala) sets out to win a dance competition despite warnings that it could imperil her health. Ruth Prawer Jhabvalas understated screenplay received accolades and delivers an uncharacteristic bit of sentiment not present in other Merchant Ivory efforts.
