Simmering with supernatural elements this is THE ORIGINALS from The Vampire Diaries executive producer/writer Julie Plec. The first season of THE ORIGINALS brought the most formidable creature on earth the Original vampire-werewolf hybrid Klaus Mikaelson back to his former home -- the vibrant and supernaturally charged city of New Orleans. When he arrived with his siblings Elijah and Rebekah not far behind he was stunned to learn that werewolf Hayley Marshall was pregnant with his child. Though Elijah hoped that the news of a baby might help rebuild their fractured family other forces threatened to destroy it further -- namely Marcel Gerard Klaus's beloved vampire protégé whom the Original siblings thought to be long dead along with a dark secret that Marcel and Rebekah held for a century. The Originals and Hayley soon found themselves caught in a bloody war between vampires and witches the stakes raised by a vengeful teenage witch Davina and by Klaus's surprising connection to Cami a student with a painful past. Meanwhile Hayley helped her exiled werewolf family return to the French Quarter unaware that a ruthless pack of wolves was already lurking in the city waiting to stage a violent coup on the vampires. As the first season came to a dramatic close the werewolves decimated the vampire community while the witches made a horrific assassination attempt against Klaus and Hayley's newborn daughter. Season two finds our heroes adjusting to a new status quo with the newly empowered werewolves controlling the city Klaus struggling to adjust to new weaknesses and Elijah desperate to save Hayley -- now a hybrid -- from a vicious spiral of self-destruction.

All three films in director Christopher Nolan's epic superhero trilogy, starring Christian Bale in his dual role as Bruce Wayne/Batman. 'Batman Begins' (2005) explores the origins of the Batman legend and the Dark Knight's emergence as a force for good in Gotham. In the wake of his parents' murder, disillusioned industrial heir Bruce Wayne (Bale) travels the world seeking the means to fight injustice and turn fear against those who prey on the fearful. He returns to Gotham and unveils his alter-ego: Batman, a masked crusader who uses his strength, intellect and an array of high-tech deceptions to fight the sinister forces that threaten the city. The sequel 'The Dark Knight' (2008), sees Gotham's avenging angel squaring-up to a new kid on the block - psychotic prankster, the Joker (Heath Ledger, in the role that won him a posthumous Oscar for Best Supporting Actor). In the space of a year, Batman (Bale), aided by Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) and new District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), has managed to rid Gotham's streets of the organised crime gangs that once ravaged the city. But just when the authorities think they're finally making progress in their fight against crime, the appearance on the streets of a sinister new figure, with a demented grin and a passion for chaos, causes panic among the good people of Gotham, and leads to a battle of wits between Batman and the Joker which threatens to get extremely personal. Finally, 'The Dark Knight Rises' (2012), set eight years on from the events of the 'The Dark Knight', sees Batman returning to save Gotham City from the evil clutches of brutal terrorist Bane (Tom Hardy) and his enigmatic sidekick, Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway). However, Batman's ability to act as an avenging angel is curtailed by the fact that he is now on Gotham City Police Department's Most Wanted list, having assumed responsibility for the crimes of deceased District Attorney Harvey Dent. The all-star supporting cast includes Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Inspired by a true story, Dolphin Tale is about courage, ingenuity, and never giving up. Sawyer (Nathan Gamble) is a young boy who's struggling with school and doesn't have many friends other than his cousin Kyle (Austin Stowell). When Kyle, a star swimmer, joins the army to earn money for college and is called to active duty, it looks like Sawyer is destined to spend his summer alone tinkering in the garage and attending summer school. Sawyer stumbles upon a dolphin that's been severely injured, becomes fascinated by dolphins, and is suddenly intellectually engaged like never before. In spite of his shyness, he forms a friendship with marine rescue doctor Clay (Harry Connick Jr.) and his daughter Hazel (Cozi Zuehlsdorff) and, more importantly, a special and very powerful bond with the rescued dolphin, who's dubbed Winter. As the newly formed team struggles to save Winter's life and ensure her continued safety, financial concerns, an accident that leaves Kyle crippled for life, and a hurricane all seem to join forces against them. In the end, it is Sawyer's determination, coupled with a little bit of luck and a lot of ingenuity from an army doctor (Morgan Freeman) who specializes in prosthetics, that helps make each member of the team, including Kyle and Winter, whole again. The talented cast does a great job of creating completely believable characters, but Gamble, Zuehlsdorff, Connick, Freeman, Stowell, and of course Winter, who plays herself, all deserve special mention. While the story of an injured animal rescued and rehabilitated has certainly been told before, this film is emotionally powerful and will absolutely captivate children and adults alike.
