  Season 1: When the first series of Friends debuted in September 1994, it was immediately obvious there would be no need for the show to find its feet. "The One Where Monica Gets a Roommate" was a confident introduction to the six lead characters, opening in the middle of an everyday conversation with the soon-to-be uncharacteristic line: "There's nothing to tell". In fact, the soap opera-style plot got complicated pretty quickly, with spoiled brat Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) moving on from her failed wedding to feelings toward nerdy/heartthrob Ross (David Schwimmer). However, no love life was more complicated than Joey's (Matt LeBlanc), with an endless stream of girlfriends that annoyed the hell out of wisecracking roommate Chandler (Matthew Perry), who only seemed to be able to connect with Janice (Maggie Wheeler), the shrillest voice in the city. Bouncing all manner of neuroses around them were Ross' obsessive sister Monica (Courteney Cox) and endearingly ditzy Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow). Premise established, Series 1 matured the characters by providing a monkey and a son for Ross. We met also meet Ross and Monica's parents Jack (Elliott Gould) and Judy (Christina Pickles), Chandler's mother (Morgan Fairchild) and Phoebe's twin sister Ursula (Kudrow, naturally). Fans loved cameos from George Clooney, Jay Leno and show creators Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman and David Crane. But really the focus was on building to "T.O.W. Rachel Finds Out" that Ross is in love with her. --Paul Tonks

Reilly plays Dale Doback a terminally unemployed forty-year-old who lives with his father Robert (Richard Jenkins). When Robert and Nancy marry and move in together Brennan and Dale are forced to live with each other as step brothers. As their narcissism and downright aggressive laziness threaten to tear the family apart these two middle-aged immature overgrown boys will orchestrate an insane elaborate plan to bring their parents back together. To pull it off they must form an unlikely bond that maybe just maybe will finally get them out of the house.

As Peter and Zooey’s relationship begins to feel the strain, can Peter maintain his friendship with Sydney? Hilarious bro-mance with a great supporting cast including a side-splitting cameo from Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk, King of Queens). She's Out Of My League Comedy about an airport security guard, Kirk (Jay Baruchel) who must battle his insecurities when he starts to date a girl his friends consider to be too high a calibre for him, Molly (Alice Eve). But his friends and family’s input on the relationship begin to sabotage it and may cost Kirk the best thing that has ever happened to him. A light-hearted romcom that will have you laughing out loud and cringing at the same time!

  Will Farrell followed up his star-making vehicle Elf, which matched his fine-tuned comic obliviousness to a sweet sincerity, with a more arrogant variation on the same character: Ron Burgundy, a macho, narcissistic news anchor from the 1970s. Along with his news posse--roving reporter Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd, Clueless), sports guy Champ Kind (David Koechner), and dim-bulb weatherman Brick Tamland (Steve Carell, Bruce Almighty)--Burgundy rules the roost in San Diego, fawned upon by groupies and supported by a weary producer (Fred Willard, Best in Show) who tolerates Burgundy's ego because of good ratings. But when Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate, View from the Top) arrives with ambitions to become an anchor herself, she threatens the male-dominated newsroom. Anchorman has plenty of funny material, but it's as if Farrell couldn't decide what he really wanted to mock, and so took smart-ass cracks at everything in sight. To do that though they need to get liquor for the big party that night. With the help of their friend Fogell a.k.a. McLovin (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) and his fake I.D. the three of them go on a hilarious chase for that elusive booze dodging incompetent cops (Knocked Up's Seth Rogen and Saturday Night Live's Bill Hader) angry neighbors and jealous boyfriends! 40 Year Old Virgin: Some may say 40 year-old Andy Stitzer (Steve Carell) has it all: a great job working at an electronics store; an awesome collection of superhero figures and comic books; friendly elderly neighbours who he watches TV with; and a few cool friends. However there's just one small problem... he's still a virgin! Once his co-workers find out about his secret they start a mission to get Andy laid ASAP!
