  Prisoners of War is a drama about three Israeli soldiers who were captured seventeen years ago while on a secret mission with their unit in Lebanon. The story begins with their return home after years of negotiations for their freedom. Two soldiers return to Israel alive the third comes home in a coffin. The series explores the soldiers’ reintegration into Israeli society on a national and personal level. However while the soldiers are acclimatising to their lives a secret investigation is also unfolding about the truth of their capture and the many discrepancies in the soldiers’ stories. As the investigators get closer to finding out the truth of what happened in captivity the two soldiers are even more resolute to do anything they can to hide the biggest secret of all.

  Real life is simply how you survive in a 'God blessed God dammed' place. James' Journey depicts an Israel you will rarely see on television or read about in the news. The Intifada is mentioned only in passing. This is a story of a young na''ve man's pilgrimage to the Holy Land Jerusalem; a journey which has been made by millions over countless years. However James is a Black South African and when he arrives in Israel the authorities do not believe his story and put him in prison. Languishing in his cell awaiting deportation James sees everything as a test of his faith because he is that rarest of things a 'true believer'. His prayers are seemingly answered when the affable 'Mr Shimi' arrives and gets him released. For James this is a sign from God but in reality the test of his faith has only just begun. Shimi throws James into a world of 'Gummi' cleaning and doing hard labour on the Israeli black market. He is forced to live in a squalid house with illegal economic migrant workers from Eastern Europe and Africa. From here he must gamble his way out.
