  Arun (Rajesh Khanna) is a businessman who is married to Nima (Shabana Azami). His business runs into trouble the shock of which causes Arun's father to die and he loses both his house & his business. Arun starts life again with a job in a small shop and has to live in a small house with Nima his two sisters and his mother a situation that Nima finds very difficult to cope with and starts arguing with everyone. Nima eventually leaves the house taking with her Nandu (their only son) and goes to live with her father.Ten years later Arun becomes a wealthy person and meets his son Nandu.
