Composer Tan Dun's 'The Map' is an ambitious project which draws on his discovery of music from the far-flung corners of the globe. The majority of his discoveries were unearthed in China's Western Hunan region where the talented musician captured a number of field recordings on camera. Using these recordings as a basis for a concerto Tan Dun subsequently split the music he heard into 10 movements named them 'The Map' and reconfigured them with the help of the Boston Symphony Orch
