Maine Dil Tujhko Diya, produced by the renowned Khan family, is not only directed by Sohail Khan but also marks his acting debut. The film is a contemporary love story and has all the ingredients of a Bollywood blockbuster: a moving love story, great action, beautiful songs and soul-stirring performances by both Sohail Khan and newcomer Sameera. Set on a college campus, the film follows the love story of Ajay (Sohail Khan), an orphan who has a reputation of do-gooder and protector of the innocent, and Ayesha (Sameera), the daughter of rich businessman Mr Verma (Kabir Bedi). Until Ayesha joins college, Ajay spends his days in fun, frolic and fight with his closest friends the "Aryans", who join him as the security team at college. But falling in love with Ayesha comes at a price: her father, disapproving of their relationship, hires Bhaijaan, a dangerous hit man, to get rid of Ajay. Soon Ajay finds himself fighting for both his love and his life until the plot thickens and his biggest enemy becomes his chief protector. A young London based filmmaker chances upon the diaries of her grandfather who served in the British police force in India during the freedom struggle. Excited about these memories she makes plans to shoot a film on the Indian revolutionaries mentioned in the diaries. She comes down to Delhi and casts a group of five friends to play the pivotal roles of these revolutionaries. However products of modern India the five youngsters initially refuse to be part of the project as they don't identify with these characters from the past. Not suprising considering that they're part of a generation of Indians that believes in consumersim. To them issues like patriotism and giving one's life for ones beliefs is the stuff that text books are made of. They would rather party than be patriots! In the film both the 1930's British India and the India today run parallel and intersect with each other at crucial points. As the film reaches its resolution the line between past and present blurs as they become one spirit.

Caught in the web of post-marital boredom and the irresistible temptation of lurking out of the relationship for some fun Dil Kabaddi tackles the journey of two modern day couples in urban India Samit and Mita & Rishi and Simi. While Samit is indeed proud of his philandering and thoroughly enjoys the adventure and experimentation Mita is at the receiving end of his adulterous ways. His pride along with her suffering defines their relationship. On the other hand as Rishi tries really hard to walk that extra mile and get rid of his monogamy Simi struggles to decide whether she is really cut out for something outside of marriage or not. His desperation coupled with her confusion decide the dynamics of this relationship. As the four saddle their way on the marital marathon they come across Kaya who spices up the goings-on between Samit and Mita; Raga who gives Rishi the motivation to take the next step; and Veer who ends up for a short stint with Mita and becomes the sole reason for Simi's confusion. How the quartet handles these complex sensitive matters of the heart and how they solve the never ending quests which their hearts put them through with some winning the battle and some ending up with a broken heart is essentially the crux of the plot of Dil Kabaddi.
