The Hollies are the most well known for the international hit single 'He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother' yet the band enjoyed a succession of hits at the beginning in 1963 and continuing through to 1974. Beat Beat Beat was a German music programme that ran during the sixties. Not to be confused with the other well known German pop programme Beat Club Beat Beat Beat was broadcast out of Frankfurt commencing in 1966. The programme ran to 26 episodes between its launch in 1966 and the final programme in January 1969 all of which are still in the German television archives. The shows were eclectic affairs and included performances by artists as diverse as Eric Burdon and the New Animals The Move Sam and Dave Cat Stevens and Barry Ryan to name just a few. This volume of the Beat Beat Beat series of releases features four magnificent performances from The Hollies in January 1967. During the sixties the Hollies were up there with the Beatles and The Rolling Stones in terms of chart supremacy and regularly managed to hit the top ten singles charts. This performance features the line up that included Allan Clarke and Graham Nash on vocals singing three of their biggest worldwide hits with Stop Stop Stop On A Carousel and Bus Stop which was written by future music star and fellow Mancunian Graham Gouldman.
