  A 3 hour DVD featuring the legendary Brazilian guitarist and composer Roberto Baden Powell de Aquino who was one of the key fathers of Bossa Nova and Samba. This Fremeaux label release presents two hour long concerts - one solo and one with his trio; plus an interview with him and two other interviews with French stars Claude Nougaro and Pirre Barough who knew and worked with Baden Powell.Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1937 Powell was classically trained but came to prominence in the mid-50s with his composition ""Samba Triste"". More hits followed and in the early 60's he began a long partnership with Vinicius de Moraes. He went on to record and tour extensively - being especially popular in France. He also worked with Stan Getz Jim Hall and Barney Kessell as well as many Brazilian stars. He died in 2000.

  Hasan Shah and Dom Shaw's fabulous movie of the post punk period between 1978 and 1981 is more than just a music record; featuring as it does the looks the poses the rucks the riots and the slaggings of bands and their fans. Filmed by a bunch of spit covered teenagers this is not so much a documentary as a series of forays into the opinions of the protagonists of Punk Mod Oi Dance and Ska; the kids on the street the music press and of course the bands themselves. Originally shot on Super 8 and blown up to 16mm the film retains its rough and ready cut to produce a gem of street level cinema. It also has some cracking performances from exponents of Punk Mod Oi and Ska all filmed in the same ethic that spawned punk itself.
