Italian-French erotic thriller directed by Luca Guadagnino. A high profile couple, famous rock star Marianne Lane (Tilda Swinton) and film-maker Paul (Matthias Schoenaerts) are holidaying on the picturesque secluded Italian island of Pantelleria as the former is recovering from a larynx operation. Their tranquil retreat is interrupted by the arrival of an old friend and charismatic music producer Harry (Ralph Fiennes) and his daughter Penelope (Dakota Johnson). Their presence results in an escalating whirlwind of envious attraction and complicated pasts and presents, creating tense dynamics between the group that ultimately end in disaster.
