Japanese animated feature based on the light novels by Kazuma Kamachi. A tremendous feat of science and engineering - the completion of the world's first space elevator - has been achieved in Academy City. At the same time, a young singer by the name of Arisa Meigo (voice of Sachika Misawa) appears in the city and quickly becomes friendly with high school student Touma Kamijou (Atsushi Abe) and his companion Index (Yuka Iguchi). Soon, bizarre events begin to occur in the city which hint at a mysterious plot involving both the elevator and Arisa as well as the influence of the magical world.
