Classic Japanese comedy following a man working in a brothel to pay off his debts. After running up a substantial bill at a Shinagawan brothel, Saheiji (Frankie Sakai) is forced by the owners to work for them as a means of fulfilling his obligations. As he comes into contact with a host of characters including local samurai Takasugi Shinasuku (Yûjirô Ishihara) and dedicated geishas Osome (Sachiko Hidari) and Koharu (Yôko Minamida), Saheiji manages to turn the situation to his own advantage.
