Drama written and directed by Robert Budreau which follows legendary jazz trumpeter Chet Baker (Ethan Hawke) as he launches an unlikely comeback in the late 1960s. After being cast as himself in a movie about his early life and struggles with heroin addiction, Chet falls for co-star Jane (Carmen Ejogo). While out on their first date together, the pair get attacked by a gang of thugs, leaving Chet with severe neck injuries, his front teeth knocked out and more importantly his embouchure ruined. Told he will never be able to play trumpet again, Chet's life spirals out of control and his debilitating addiction again takes hold of him. However, with the help and unwavering support of Jane, Baker is able to slowly relearn his craft and embark on an ambitious comeback against all the odds.
