Small-time bank-robber Charley Varrick (Walter Matthau) bites off more than he can chew in this heist thriller from director Don Siegel. Deciding to try their hands at a small bank south of the border that they believe will be easy pickings, Varrick (Matthau) and his partner-in-crime Harman Sullivan (Andrew Robinson) are surprised when their haul brings them more than they could dream of. It doesn't take them long to realise, however, that the stolen cash belongs to the mob and that they'll have to return it - fast. Unfortunately for the desperate duo, the cops, as well as the ruthlessly efficient mafia hitman Molly (Joe Don Baker), are already on their trail.
