Richard Linklater writes and directs this comedy drama about a group of college freshmen baseball players in the '80s. In the finals days of summer leading up to the start of college in Texas, promising pitcher Jake (Blake Jenner) plans to enjoy his last moments of freedom before studies begin. Forced to share a house with his teammates, including alpha male batsman McReynolds (Tyler Hoechlin), ladies' man Finnegan (Glen Powell) and slacker Willoughby (Wyatt Russell), the boys begin three days of initiations and partying, in total defiance of their coach's strict rules. With the responsibilities of adulthood fast approaching, the boys bond over partying and chasing girls before hitting their first practice of the year.
