Colin Farrell and David Tennant star in this remake of the 1985 comedy horror. Senior school student Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) discovers that his new neighbour, Jerry Dandrige (Farrell), is a vampire. When he explains the situation to his mother (Toni Collette), however, she doesn't believe him so instead he finds help in the form of magician Peter Vincent (Tennant). Together they attempt to get rid of the vampire before he does damage to the whole neighbourhood.
