Tate Taylor directs this musical biopic chronicling the life and career of American recording artist and musician James Brown, portrayed here by Chadwick Boseman. Credited with being one of the founding fathers of funk, Brown developed his unique and captivating style over the course of many years. The film shows how the singer rose from impoverished beginnings in Georgia to the heady heights of international fame as his music and influence spread throughout the world, attaining him the moniker of 'The Godfather of Soul'.
