Jeff Bridges and Chris Pine star in this crime drama directed by David MacKenzie. Divorced father Toby (Pine) and his ex-con brother Tanner (Ben Foster) stage a string of carefully planned bank robberies in a desperate attempt to save their family's West Texas farm from bank foreclosure. With the thefts mounting up, ageing Texas Ranger Marcus (Bridges) is assigned to investigate the crimes and quickly begins gathering evidence. When Tanner decides to stage an impromptu heist of his own, the wily Marcus is quickly on his trail, putting the brothers' plan in jeopardy and their family's future in serious doubt. The film was nominated for three Golden Globe Awards for Best Motion Picture - Drama, Best Performance By an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture (Bridges) and Best Screenplay - Motion Picture (Taylor Sheridan), three BAFTAs including Best Supporting Actor (Bridges) and Best Original Screenplay, and four Academy Awards including Best Supporting Actor (Bridges), Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay.
