Thriller based on the novella by H.G. Wells. Michael York stars as Braddock, a young Englishman who is rescued from a shipwreck in the middle of the Pacific Ocean by the mysterious Dr. Montgomery (Nigel Davenport). Braddock accompanies Montgomery and his cargo of wild animals to a nearby tropical island. As Braddock spends more time on the island he begins to familiarise himself with the natives, who are unlike any other humans he has encountered before.
