US horror written and directed by George A. Romero. After becoming tired of her bland suburban life and her distant businessman husband, 39-year-old housewife Joan Mitchell (Jan White) takes an interest in the black arts following the arrival in the neighbourhood of tarot reader Marion Hamilton (Virginia Greenwald). Inspired by Marion, Joan becomes involved in witchcraft, but as she delves deeper into her new world the lines between fantasy and reality soon become blurred.
