Classic Disney version of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale. After being cursed as a child by the evil sorceress Maleficent (voice of Eleanor Audley), Princess Aurora (Mary Costa) is destined to prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and fall into a deep and endless sleep on her 16th birthday. Only a kiss from Prince Phillip (Bill Shirley) can wake her, but he has been kidnapped by Maleficent who vows to keep him captive until he is an old man on the verge of death. Determined to save Aurora and put an end to Maleficent's evil schemes, good fairies Flora (Verna Felton), Fauna (Barbara Jo Allen) and Merryweather (Barbara Luddy) join forces in an attempt to free Phillip and help him break the curse.
