Japanese action movie based on the 1970s anime series. In the year 2199, the Earth Defense Force is engaged in battle against alien race the Gamilas. Captain Okita (Tsutomu Yamazaki) comes across an alien capsule containing information about a warp drive and the planet Iskandar, which he believes may hold the key to the survival of humanity. He puts together a crew and they head towards Iskandar on board the Yamato battleship but meet strong opposition from the Gamilas. Will they be able to defeat the enemy and restore Earth to its natural order?
