Three big screen adventures from the 1980s for the crew of the starship Enterprise. 'The Wrath of Khan' (1982) sees the crew encounter Khan (Ricardo Montalban), an old foe whom Captain Kirk (William Shatner) banished to a far corner of the Universe some years back. A selectively bred supervillain, Khan threatens to reverse creation with his Genesis Machine, but not if Kirk has any say in the matter. In 'The Search For Spock' (1984), Kirk disregards Starfleet orders and steals the Enterprise to venture out on a mission to find the body of Spock (Leonard Nimoy). The crew, including Bones (De Forrest Kelley), who appears to have absorbed part of Spock's essence, is impeded by marauding Klingons. In 'The Voyage Home' (1986), the crew of the USS Enterprise abandon their usual 23rd century time frame for Earth in the year 1986. In order to save the planet from a rogue space probe in the future, Kirk, Spock, Bones and co must travel back to the 20th century to find the only creature capable of communicating with it: a whale. The story is given comic treatment - Spock hides his Vulcan ears with a headband and poses as a burnt-out hippy, while the normally intrepid Kirk gets lost on a bus.
