1960s Italian horror directed by Antonio Margheriti. In the 15th century Adele Karnstein (Halina Zalewska) is burnt at the stake after being accused of witchcraft by Count Humboldt (Giuliano Raffaelli). Years later, her youngest daughter Lisabeth (also Zalewska) marries the Count's nephew Kurt (George Ardisson) before a plague decimates their village and proceeds to wipe out the Humboldt family, as Adele prophesised. Could she be seeking revenge from beyond the grave?
