Victor Mature, Lee Marvin and J. Carrol Naish star in this crime thriller directed by Richard Fleischer. When three opportunistic criminals arrive in the small mining town of Bradenville they begin gathering information and dirt on local people that they plan to use to their advantage when they rob the town's bank. They discover that the bank manager is secretly a peeping tom, the quiet Amish family are holding a man hostage and the wife of the copper mine is having an affair. As they develop a strategy in which to use this information the people of Bradenville begin to turn on each other culminating in a bloodbath of embarrassment and condemnation.
