Ross also goes in search of his friend Doctor Dwight Enys who is missing in action in France. With the bloody French Revolution raging Ross returns home from the army with Doctor Enys and Hugh Armitage. Armitage makes overtures to Demelza while Elizabeth's cousin languishes in an unhappy arranged marriage to Reverend Osbourne.
