Girl Play is a vivacious romantic comedy that is told through a series of humorous flashbacks. The story revolves around Robin Greenspan who is essentially ""married"" to her girlfriend and Lacie Harmon whose relationships don't seam to last past one night of passionate sex. They meet when they are cast to play lesbian lovers in a Los Angeles stage play. Innocently flamboyant stage director Gabriel directs the actresses through a series of rehearsals designed to ""bring out the intimacy"" in each performer. The two women find themselves increasingly and undeniably attracted to each other and overcome with desire. They must ask themselves whether this relationship is manufactured for the sake of the ""girl play"" or if it genuinely is true love. What follows is their personal journey to come to terms with their passionate feelings for each other and the life-altering choices they face. This film is sexy realistic and honest in its characterisations.
