  Drawn into the twilight world of internet chat rooms and webcams computer buff Thomas Cross (Edward Furlong) meets a girl he knows only as Cathy. But no sooner has their 'virtual' relationship begun than it is brutally cut short when Thomas watches helplessly as Cathy is murdered on screen... before his very eyes. One of his favorite sites is that of Cathy a girl with whom he has developed a friendship and if truth be told he has started to fall in love with. One day when he logs onto her site he sees a masked intruder in her apartment who brutally murders her. When he calls the police to tell them what he is witnessing he only has her website address and can do nothing to stop the killer. As the only witness to the murder Thomas also become a suspect until he and the beautiful detective Claire assigned to the case begin to fall in love. In order to draw out the true killer he and Claire start their own website using her as bait. But are they setting themselves up to be the next victims and risking a chance at a relationship beyond the computer screen and key pad?
