Also included in the documentary are 22 complete vintage television performances from The Impressions and Curtis Mayfield's solo career filmed between 1965 and 1973. In addition to telling the history of Curtis Mayfield as an artist and the Impressions as a group the film explores how The Impressions' music was a virtual soundtrack for the civil rights era in the '60s. In an interview filmed exclusively for the documentary civil rights leader Ambassador Andrew Young (who worked closely with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.) speaks about the effect classic Impressions songs such as People Get Ready Choice of Colours and We're A Winner had on the movement and how often their songs were sung for inspiration in churches and during marches (some led by Dr. King.) The film also shows how Curtis Mayfield's solo work helped define the early '70s. Chuck D leader of the rap group Public Enemy provides context about Curtis's music as a soundtrack to the grim realities of urban life culminating with his 1972 masterpiece Superfly. In addition Carlos Santana speaks about Curtis Mayfield's unique genius as a songwriter artist and teacher and also comments on the spiritual nature of his music. Also featured in the film are Impressions Fred Cash and Sam Gooden who discuss the history of the group beginning with their origins in the late '50s and share incredible stories about many of their classic songs as well as give insight into Curtis as a songwriter. In addition producer/arranger Johnny Pate speaks about the recording process of their classic songs and reminisces about the Impressions in the studio. Herman Wallace Albert Woodfox and Robert King spent almost a century between them in solitary confinement in Angola the Louisiana State Penitentiary. They have become known as the Angola Three. In 1972 prison officials charged Wallace and Woodfox with the murder of a prison guard Brent Miller. King 150 miles from the scene of the crime was identified as a 'conspirator'; in 1972 he was accused of the murder of a fellow inmate. With no physical evidence or credible witness testimony the three men were convicted by all-white juries sentenced to life imprisonment and placed in solitary confinement. Their cells measured 9ft by 6ft. It is widely believed they were targeted not only to silence their protests but also because of their involvement with the Black Panthers. After judicial reviews Robert King was freed in 2001; in March 2008 Herman and Albert were moved to a maximum security dormitory where they remain incarcerated despite having had their convictions overturned. In the Land of the Free tells the shocking and ongoing story of these extraordinary men. Directed by Vadim Jean and narrated by Samuel L. Jackson this documentary features interviews with Robert King Albert Woodfox and Herman Wallace and talks to attorneys and others involved with the cases - including the widow of Brent Miller who believes the men are innocent of her husband's murder.

Czech actors have risen to iconic status in the world of gay erotica and Heikkinen chronicles how cultural events like the Velvet Revolution and the fall of the Berlin Wall cleared the way for the gay porn industry's ascent. While the young men who populate the films and photo shoots of such productions carry an air of sexual liberation the dark truth is that many of the actors are troubled youths without viable career choices. Through beautiful cinematography the film draws poetic parallels between the loneliness of the creators and consumers of adult film. Yet the often dark subject matter of All Boys is countered by the interviewee's genuine longing for love and human connection. Scenes with one man who managed to move on from acting in gay porn to a seemingly traditional family life suggest that those involved in the industry can escape the perils of drugs and prostitution. In a hyperconnected world where erotic material is never far out of reach All Boys is required viewing. Behind every seductive image in adult media is a story and All Boys is a film that's intent on finding out how the story ends.

Charles de Gaulle was born in Lille on 22 November 1890 and grew up in Paris, where his father was a teacher. De Gaulle chose a military career and served with distinction in World War One. During the 1930s he wrote books and articles on military subjects, criticising France's reliance on the Maginot Line for defence against Germany and advocating the formation of mechanised armoured columns. His advice went unheeded and, in June 1940, German forces easily overran France. After the liberation of Paris in August 1944, de Gaulle was given a hero's welcome in the French capital. As president of the provisional government, he guided France through the writing of the constitution on which the Fourth Republic was based. In May 1968, violent demonstrations by university students shook de Gaulle's government. A general strike followed, paralysing France. De Gaulle resigned the presidency after losing a referendum on a reform proposal. He retired to his estate at Colombey-les-Deux-Eglises and died of a heart attack on 9 November 1970
