All eight episodes from the first series of the 1970s drama looking at life in the future year of 1990. Led by a corrupt government, Great Britain is in turmoil, with free speech and basic human rights completely abolished and replaced with strict laws on rationing, censorship and personal surveillance. As journalist and rebel Jim Kyle (Edward Woodward) frequently goes against the establishment to get his message heard, Public Control Department head Herbert Skardon (Robert Lang) sees it as his personal mission to put him back in his place.
