To Jack Carter (C. Thomas Howell), family is everything. A once aspiring writer, Jack was forced to set aside his dreams of becoming a best-selling novelist in order to take care of the family bakery. His focus on the family business, however, has caused his family to drift further and further apart. With his basketball obsessed son soon off to college and his teenage daughter unable to put down her smart phone, Jack decides that, this Christmas, it’s time to take the family on a much needed vacation. Heartwarming Christmas family comedy starring C. Thomas Howell and Jonathan Silverman. When family man Jack Carter (Howell) decides to take his wife, children and dog (voice of Burt Reynolds) on a much-needed, impromptu Christmas break, he is angered when he discovers his competitive friend Robert (Silverman) is staying with his family in the cabin next door. When the quality family time turns into a big competition between Jack and Robert, including who can find the legendary magic Christmas tree, both families start to realise that there is more to life than competing with each other.
