On Christmas Eve a poor old woman plays her accordion in the street. Apart from two children the passers-by ignore her. So in desperation at the end of the day she sells her accordion to buy some food. But her troubles aren't over. On her way home a thief steals her money. She discovers that he has also vandalised the church. The crib lies scattered on the floor and the collection box is empty. She restores order and donates her last two pennies thinking that her actions are unobserved. But the little Nativity figures come to life and make sure that her virtue... is rewarded.
