A special one-off comedy from Charlie Brooker, which spoofs the very best and worst of British crime dramas. An all-encompassing parody of every police procedural ever written. John Hannah plays DCI Jack Cloth - a maverick, heavy drinking loner who has thrown himself into his work following the mysterious death of his wife. The damaged, haunted Cloth is teamed with plucky no-nonsense sidekick DC Anne Oldman, played by Suranne Jones. Together the pair investigate a series of increasingly grisly murders and find themselves on the trail of a devious killer. As you do.... If you're a detective. The case leads Cloth and Oldman from leafy forests to sinister lock-ups, from the luxury home of an arrogant TV chef to the cold dissection rooms of vampish forensic pathologist, packing in as many jokes as humanly possible along the way. Their boss repeatedly demands results, fast. No, faster than that. Faster! Slow down. Not that much. Hold it there. Yeah, precisely that fast... [show more]

Charlie Brooker's British crime drama spoof A TOUCH OF CLOTH stars John Hannah (REBUS) as DCI Jack Cloth; a troubled maverick cop who, along with his sidekick DC Anne Oldman (Suranne Jones), finds himself on the trail of a vicious killer. Lampooning all that is silly in a genre that takes itself very, very seriously, Brooker and his co-writer Daniel Maier (HARRY HILL'S TV BURP) keep the jokes coming thick and fast, as their no-nonsense heroes follow the trail of increasingly grisly murders.
Taking a pop at every British police crime drama there is, John Hannah stars in this one-off spoof as tough, been there-done that, DCI Jack Cloth. Following the death of his wife in mysterious circumstances, the hard-drinking, and slightly bitter, loner sets out on the trail of a psychopathic killer who has, naturally, been leaving a trail of grisly remains in his wake. Aided and abetted by his equally tough and impatient-for-answers colleague DC Anne Oldman (Suranne Jones), the pair try to crack the case, all the while being pressured relentlessly for results by their boss, A.C.C. Boss (Julian Rhind-Tutt).
